Client & context
Mau Narok Nissan SACCO — a 200+ member transport Sacco in Nakuru County offering savings, loans and shares. Like many member-owned organisations, its books had outlived several treasurers, several record-keeping styles and more than a decade of growth and decline.
The problem
Twelve years of records (2006–2018) had never been reconciled. The loan book was unclear, interest income could not be traced year to year, and the gap between what the records said and what the Sacco actually held masked a long financial decline. The committee had to make decisions about members' money without a reliable picture of it.
What we built
- A 34-page historical forensic report tracing three distinct financial eras of the Sacco
- Loan reconciliation working papers and reusable ledger templates
- Committee-ready documentation — written to be read and acted on, not filed
The outcome
For the first time, the committee received a defensible picture of the Sacco's true position: where the loan book peaked, how interest income collapsed, and what the fleet actually lost. Decisions that had been argued from memory could finally be argued from evidence.
